Sidekick can use tools from the external products you already work in - Slack, Notion, Stripe, Amplitude, your ad accounts - alongside your SideShift data. Connect a tool once and Sidekick can call it in chat: pull Meta Ads spend next to creator performance, find a brief in Drive, or post an update to a Slack channel. Most connectors talk directly to the vendor’s own hosted MCP server; SideShift does not sit in front of the vendor’s API. Meta Ads and TikTok Ads are the exceptions - they are native, so SideShift talks to Meta’s and TikTok’s Marketing APIs over your company’s existing ad-account connections from Ad Settings.

Where to find it

Connectors are not available on demo accounts.

Connect a tool

1

Open the Directory

From the composer + menu, or Settings → Sidekick Connectors.
2

Click Connect on a tile

Use Search connectors… if you don’t see the one you want.
3

Approve access with the vendor

You sign in with the vendor and approve what Sidekick may use.
4

Use it in chat

The tile shows Connected · N tools, and those tools are now callable in Sidekick chat.
Most connections are personal. Each person connects their own account, and a teammate’s connection is not shared with you - if a teammate connected Slack, you still connect your own. Meta Ads and TikTok Ads are the exceptions: they are company-wide, so one owner or admin connects each for the whole team.

Available connectors

Connectors marked Coming Soon in the Directory can’t be connected yet. Slack is not yet listed in the Slack Marketplace, so connecting Slack may not be available for your workspace yet.

Meta Ads and TikTok Ads

Meta Ads and TikTok Ads are native rather than vendor-hosted MCP, so they behave a little differently:
  • They are company-wide. One owner or admin clicks Connect and the whole team can use it. If you can’t manage connectors, the tile reads Ask an admin.
  • Connect opens the vendor’s login in the standard connect popup - the same Meta login or TikTok Business Center login the ads product uses.
  • The tiles have no Disconnect. The grant lives with Ad Settings on /ads, which is also an alternate place to manage the same connection.
Meta Ads reads the live account directly: list_ad_accounts, list_campaigns, campaign_insights, and graph_get (GET-only, allowlisted ad-account paths). Everything else runs the same flow as SideShift Ads: request and save a partnership code, launch a partnership ad or a brand-page ad, pause, resume, change the budget, duplicate a campaign or ad set, and delete - plus the readiness, ad-set, asset, ad-copy, and delivery-estimate reads the flow needs. TikTok Ads reads the live account directly: list_ad_accounts, list_campaigns, campaign_insights, and api_get (GET-only, allowlisted read endpoints, always pinned to an ad account you authorized in Ad Settings). Everything else runs the same flow as SideShift Ads: request and save a Spark code, launch a Spark Ad, pause, resume, change the budget, and delete - plus the readiness, identity, campaign-shell, and asset reads the flow needs. Every launch or change goes through SideShift Ads, so it appears on /ads with spend tracking and creator attribution, exactly as if you had launched it there. Nothing runs until you confirm it: Sidekick reads the full plan back to you and asks for a one-time confirmation code before any write.

Connection states

A connected tile shows Connected · N tools. Vendor-hosted connectors also offer Disconnect; the native Meta Ads and TikTok Ads tiles do not. If tools failed to load, the tile reads Connected, but its tools could not be loaded. and may show the vendor’s error underneath. Open the Directory again to retry - Sidekick re-lists tools when you open the gallery. You usually do not need to reconnect. If the tile reads Connected, but this server offers no tools., the vendor’s MCP server reported an empty tool list. If a tile shows Reconnect, click Reconnect and approve access again. When a connection stops refreshing, the Connectors row in the composer menu shows a badge until you reconnect.

Custom connectors and requests

At the end of the Directory, under More:
  • Add custom connector - connect any MCP-compatible server by entering its URL directly (for example https://mcp.example.com/mcp), with an optional name. URLs must use https on the standard port; private addresses and URLs with embedded credentials are rejected.
  • Request an integration - don’t see the tool you need? Send the connector name and any details, and we’ll look at adding it.

In chat

Connected tools appear to Sidekick namespaced under the connector’s name - notion__search_pages, for example - with up to 20 tools per connector. Anything that writes to the external tool (posting a Slack message, editing a Notion page) is confirmed with you before it runs.
Looking for the other direction - connecting an AI client such as Claude to your SideShift data? That is the SideShift MCP server, not a Sidekick connector.
